Dr. Lee Bolt, graduated from the University of Idaho and Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He served in the U.S. Army, performing infectious disease research and was honorably discharged. He been a small animal and exotic animal veterinarian practicing in Asheville since 1992. He also is dedicated to wildlife and zoological animal medicine and surgery. This has included positions as staff veterinarian at the Western North Carolina Nature Center, Grandfather Mountain and the Blue Ridge Wildlife Institute at Lee's-McCrae College, in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Doctor Bolt is head veterinarian for the Norman Vaughan - 1925 Serum Run, sled dog expedition. (A memorial tribute, tracing through the heart of Alaska. See links). He serves on the boards of several non-profit organizations, is a published author and for 10 years, has instructed veterinarians in the medical applications of lasers in veterinary medicine.
